We all have time to think back to the times in our lives when all that was important was friends, sports and school.  A lot has changed since then, not only for us... but for our kids as well.  I would grab my glove from underneath my bed the first day of try-outs, and that is exactly where I put it after my last game the year before.  In todays world, if you want to compete at the upper levels (high school, college, or beyond), you need to work on your skills all year round.
